The Week That Knocked Me Around

Last week knocked me around.
Training dipped.
Coaching dipped.
Energy dipped.
And for a few days there, I genuinely felt like everything I’d been building - fitness, mindset,
coaching, momentum - had slid backwards.
It wasn’t catastrophic.
But it was enough to rattle me.
And if I’m being completely honest, it wasn’t just the training.
I wasn’t firing at work.
I wasn’t as patient with the kids as I’d hoped to be.
And I wasn’t showing up the way I normally pride myself on showing up.
I felt flat.
I felt heavy.
And I felt like I was constantly one step behind the day.
But here’s the thing - and this is the whole point of this blog:
Momentum isn’t magic. Momentum is maintenance.
We talk about high performance like it’s something glamorous - medals, PBs, promotions,
breakthroughs, energy, growth, progress.
But that’s only half the reality.
The other half?
It’s grit.
It’s recommitment.
It’s dragging yourself back into alignment even when you feel like you’ve slid completely off
the rails.
It’s choosing the next right action when motivation has evaporated.
